As we approach winter, the student council decided to host a highly educational, yet fun learning experience through the coding event! We invited over 30 students to learn and explore varying levels of coding, through challenging activities!
The participants were split into two groups depending on their coding experience. Younger students, who have barely touched on the subject were split into the scratch group, learning with MIT’s famous block-coding platform. They were taught by Selena Xiao and Aaron Peng. Older, more experienced students were challenged to create their own discord bot(using Javascript), after seeing an example. Both groups demonstrated exceptional learning abilities, and came up with spectacular results!
The event was a large success! We received overwhelming positive feedback from the participants and volunteers. Once again, thank you to our teachers and students for making this event possible, we hope to see you in the next one!
