The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for everyone to celebrate the holidays like other years. However, at PCA Youth Center, we were still able to connect with our community and celebrate through holding a holiday lights show!
From December 11th to January 3rd, we held our Shining Thru The Holidays event, which allowed participants to share their holiday decorations with others! They took pictures of holiday decorations around their home, including but not limited to DIY decorations, festive rooms, or brightly lit yards. The pictures were then entered in a survey in which participants and their friends voted on pictures based on three categories: Creativity, Popularity, and Overall Festivity! Each category winner was awarded a $30 Amazon gift card!
The top photo from each of the three categories was voted on by our community. With submissions from participants of all ages, we received a total of 68 photos ranging from festively decorated Christmas trees to self-made holiday related arts and crafts pieces to city scenes. All submissions can be found under the Gallery tab of our website. Feel free to check out the creative and festive photos taken by our participants!
Thank you to all who participated, the student council (Yi-Fei, Kevin, Alicia, Matthew, Chennie, Hannah, Sophia, Edward, Aaron, Iris), the counselors (Amy and Jefferson), and the parents for their time and efforts. Please feel free to reach out to any of the members listed on our website to ask questions, and stay updated for our future events. We hope to see you there!
